MagrowTec is excited to announce that Karen Thomas has joined the team in the role of Business Development Manager in Australia.
Karen will be leading sales development in the key agricultural markets of Victoria and Tasmania, stepping into the role previously held by James Turtle, who transitioned to Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand in December 2024.
She will work closely with MagrowTec’s Australian distribution partners to drive awareness and sales through the sprayer equipment sales channel.
She will be based in Mildura, Victoria and will report directly to James Turtle, Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand.
Karen brings with her a wealth of experience in spray equipment, dealer operation and management, as well as training and teaching expertise.
With a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades in agribusiness and agronomy, Karen has held key leadership roles across various organizations.
She began her journey at North West Ag Services as a Manager/Agronomist (1996–2002) before moving on to Westvic Agspray, where she served as Managing Director from 2002 to 2014. She then transitioned to WDEA, first as a Team Leader (2014–2018) and later as Regional Manager until 2020. Seeking new challenges, Karen joined Emmets as a Service Manager in 2020 and was promoted to Regional Manager in 2021.
Since 2023, Karen has been shaping the next generation of agricultural professionals as a lecturer at Longerenong College, teaching Broadacre Crop Agronomy and Rural Business to students in the Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness Management, Diploma of Applied Agronomy, and Certificate II, III & IV in Agriculture programs.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Business in Agricultural Commerce, specializing in commerce, marketing, and commercial law from the University of Sydney, as well as an Associate Diploma of Applied Science & Agricultural Services from The Victorian College of Agriculture & Horticulture (VCAH).
