Dublin, Ireland – 26th November 2018 – MagGrow, the Irish headquartered company providing sustainable solutions to agriculture, has today announced the appointment of Jochem Verberne to its board of directors. The company’s board and executive team champions sustainability to spur innovation and serve it’s ever increasing market opportunities which in turn helps MagGrow’s customers deliver their twin profitability and sustainability goals. Jochem is a perfect fit for the business with his background in addressing the world’s water challenges, an area that MagGrow is heavily involved in with its technology.
In addition to his board responsibilities Jochem will, along with Yves Kummer, work closely with MagGrow’s management team to accelerate the development of the business in a number of key markets. Their knowledge and network within the agriculture industry is a tremendous addition to the business.
Jochem Verberne, said: “We’re facing an enormous challenge to produce at least 50% more food by 2050 in a more sustainable way than today. At WWF, I learned that a rapid increase of investments in solutions for this challenge is needed to reduce the pressures on our natural resources and to change the way we take care of our arable land. I’ve seen many important innovations that can reduce the use of water and chemicals for food production incrementally but MagGrow’s patented technology achieves water and chemical use reductions of up to 50%. These potential savings are combined with significant pesticide drift reduction and increased productivity levels. That’s very promising. Coming from a science-based organization, it was important for me to see how MagGrow validates its underlying technology with scientific evidence from leading academia. I look forward to help an innovative company like MagGrow to contribute to feeding the planet in a more sustainable way.”
“We are delighted to welcome Jochem to the board of MagGrow. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from his previous roles and a vision for food sustainability that is 100% aligned with ours. We look forward to working with Jochem and his colleagues over the coming months and years to further the success of the MagGrow business.” said Gary Wickham, Chief Executive Officer, MagGrow.
