MagrowTec has strengthened its research and innovation capabilities with the introduction of a new AI Engineer role, bringing Artificial Intelligence and advanced data analytics into its research and product development activities.
The role will focus on establishing MagrowTec’s AI and Data Intelligence capability and exploring how Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and advanced analytics can generate new insights from the company’s scientific, experimental and operational data.
Joining MagrowTec in the role is Yasaswini Kasturi, an AI and Machine Learning professional with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the National College of Ireland and a background spanning machine learning, data analytics, predictive modelling, SQL and data engineering.
Reporting to Dr. Cleo Harvey, Chief Research Officer, Yasaswini will work closely with MagrowTec’s research, engineering and crop science teams to establish and develop the company’s AI and Data Intelligence capabilities.
The appointment represents another step in MagrowTec’s continued investment in science-led innovation. Yasaswini’s initial focus will be on understanding and structuring data generated through MagrowTec’s research programmes and identifying areas where AI can accelerate analysis and uncover additional insights.
A key area of development will be the use of Computer Vision and automated analytics to analyse large volumes of experimental and image-based data. This includes investigating metrics such as droplet count, droplet size, density, spacing, deposition patterns, distribution uniformity and spray coverage.
Machine Learning and Explainable AI will also be explored to better understand relationships between environmental conditions, water properties, spray characteristics and experimental outcomes, helping MagrowTec investigate the factors influencing spray performance, deposition, coverage, drift and overall product effectiveness.
"The volume and depth of data generated through our research programmes present a significant opportunity. Building dedicated AI and data intelligence capabilities will allow us to analyse that information in new ways, identify patterns more efficiently and further strengthen the scientific understanding behind our technology."
Cleo Harvey , Chief Research Officer at MagrowTec
Commenting on his appointment, Yasaswini said:
“I’m excited to join MagrowTec and apply AI and data science to real-world agricultural challenges. There is a significant opportunity to turn complex research data into actionable insights and contribute to the next generation of agricultural technology.”
Yasaswini Kasturi
The capability will support MagrowTec’s broader ambition to use science, technology and data to improve agricultural sustainability, spraying efficiency and understanding of spray application performance.
Please join us in welcoming Yasaswini to the MagrowTec team.
